The Arizona EHR Incentive Program is now accepting 2014 attestations for Stage 1 and Stage 2. At this time,
the recently released Flexibilty Rule has not yet been programmed; however, AHCCCS is working on an IT solution
that should be available in the near future.
The Arizona Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program will provide incentive
payments to eligible professionals and eligible hospitals as they demonstrate adoption, implementation,
upgrading, or meaningful use of certified EHR technology. This incentive program is designed to support
providers in this period of Health IT transition and instill the use of EHRs in meaningful ways to help
our nation to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient health care.
The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System Administration (AHCCCS) is responsible for the
implementation of Arizona’s Medicaid EHR Incentive Program.
AHCCCS issues Form 1099 to payees (monetary recipients) of EHR Incentive payments. If an Eligible Provider
(EP) is reassigning a payment to his/her practice, the EP is personally required to attest that he/she is
aware of the payment reassignment and that the reassignment falls within the guidelines issued by the IRS.
