SSDI-Temporary Medical Coverage

The attached notice explains that your application is going to be placed on a waiting list for the SSDI-Temporary Medical Coverage program. The following information gives you more information about the program and the current application process. [ Details ]

Disabled individuals who receive Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) payments and are no longer eligible for other AHCCCS programs may qualify for the SSDI-Temporary Medical Coverage until they are able to receive Medicare. There is no limit on income or resources.

To be eligible for this program you must:

  • Be a resident of Arizona

  • Be a citizen of the United States or a qualified non-citizen

  • Be receiving Social Security Disability

  • Have received AHCCCS health insurance within the 24 months before application

  • Not currently be eligible for or receiving AHCCCS health insurance

  • Not be covered by other health insurance

  • Not yet be eligible for Medicare

  • Pay a monthly premium. Premiums range from $60 to $300 per person depending on the applicant's gross household income, which must be verified

  • Not have any unpaid premiums owed to AHCCCS or KidsCare
