Health Insurance for Individuals With Developmental Disabilities who Need Long Term
Return to Categories
AHCCCS offers services for individuals who require the level of care provided in an Intermediate Care Facility for Mental Retardation and Related Conditions (ICF-MR). These services are offered through the Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS). This program is intended for individuals of any age who are determined to need ongoing services at that institutional level.
Those who qualify do not have to reside in an ICF-MR. Most ALTCS-DD members live in their own homes or in other community settings and receive needed services there.
