Help with Paying Medicare Costs Only

A person receiving Medicare may qualify to have their Medicare premiums, co-payments, and deductibles paid.

The applicant may qualify for this program if the applicant:

  • Is an Arizona resident
  • Is a United States citizen or a qualified immigrant
  • Has a Social Security number or applies for one
    • To apply for a Social Security number visit the U.S. Social Security Administration
    • Make a copy of the form submitted as confirmation of applying for a Social Security Number
  • Is entitled to Medicare Part A
  • Applies for potential income that may be available, such as unemployment, pensions, and Social Security
  • Is under the income limit

The tables below show how much money the applicant can receive each month before taxes (gross monthly income) and other deductions are subtracted.

It is also important to know that if someone is working, AHCCCS may subtract an amount for work expenses.

If person's income is under the limit in the table below, the person qualifies to have their Medicare Part A & B premiums, copayments, and deductibles paid.

If the person's income is higher than the income limit in the table above, the person may still qualify to have just their Medicare Part B premium paid if their income is under the income limit below.
