The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is hosting online forums to inform the community and gather feedback on the upcoming AHCCCS initiatives.

Your Voice Matters: Join a Discussion About the Future of AHCCCS Health Plans Virtual

Health Management Associates (HMA) is hosting several virtual sessions for current AHCCCS Complete Care and AHCCCS Complete Care Behavioral Health stakeholders to provide input.

Sessions will include an overview of AHCCCS, and participants will be asked to share insights that can help inform the future of Medicaid and AHCCCS Complete Care contracts in Arizona. Each session is tailored to receive input from specific audiences, including members, behavioral health providers, physical health providers, and health plans.

Tuesday, July 22, 2025 - 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. System Navigation: Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) Identification Process On Zoom

Join us to learn more about the Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) identification process. SED is an identification for children who have a mental, behavioral, or emotional disorder which substantially interferes with or limits the child’s ability to function in family, school, or community activities. It may identify higher needs and help AHCCCS match services to the member’s specific needs. There is a standard process for SED identification.

Thursday, July 24, 2025 - 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Jacob's Law Presentation On Zoom

Arizona House Bill 2442 was passedinto law in 2016, and became known as Jacob’s Law. It helped to correct many issues facing foster, kinship, and adopted children who receive behavioral health services. This presentation covers the following:

  • Overview of Jacob’s Law,
  • Review and Use of the DCS Placement Packet,
  • Legal Rights & Protections for Children and Resource Parents, and
  • Covered Services.

Training length is two (2) hours. Certificate of attendance will be provided.
